Located on the Picardy coast, the Baie de Somme is northern France’s largest estuary. Spread over 72km2, the bay joins up with the English Channel over a 5km stretch from north to south. Since 1989, the Baie de Somme has been named one of the most beautiful in the world, with the title being shared by Halong Bay (Vietnam) and the Mont St Michel bay, under a label named “The world’s most beautiful bays”.
