Located in the Pyrenees bordering Spain, the Garvanie Circus is ice themed circus which forms part of the National Park of The Pyrenees and also classified as world heritage by UNESCO in 1997. Therefore, as a matter of fact, it is considered to be the most beautiful natural circuses of France.


The Cirque de Gavarnie


Home to the highest waterfall in Europe, it has an average altitude of 1570 meters and has a perimeter of approximately 14 kilometres. The peak of Marboré which the highest summit crest at around 3248 meters high. The Circus is surrounded by Mountains and hills including, Petit Astazou and Morbore-Pic Brullé and as for the hotel, well it is situated at the lower end of the circus at 1570 meters above sea-level.

Within the “Cirque de Gavarnie”, you have the possibility of hiking (count two hours round-trip) which will make you discover a sublime landscape composed of different paths, waterfalls, chasms, peaks and different animals. From the top of the circus hotel, don't miss the wonderful scenery! If you an amateurs of hiking, feel free to make one of the Brèche de Roland (4 hours round trip).


Near the circus, there are a Hiking track which leads to the peak of Tabernacles, with, at the top, an unparalleled view over all vertices and near waterfalls. You can also go skiing in the ski resort of Gavarnie-Gèdre consisting of 11 ski lifts, 29 ski slopes of different levels, and that has a 1350 and 2400 meters altitude. Lovers of cross-country skiing, you also have the opportunity to pamper yourself with the 7.5 kilometers of cross-country skiing at the foot of the circus.
